Terms & Conditions
Effective 15 October 2026.
These terms apply to Serumah’s website and household organiser, operated by Karya Akar Langit ("we", "us"). Read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Billing & Refunds Policy. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.
1. Accounts and households
Account holders must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. Give accurate account information, protect your password and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. Use only an account you are authorised to access.
Only invite people you intend to share your household information with. Invitation links and codes provide a route into your household, so keep them private. Household records and messages may be visible to other members. A person leaving a household does not automatically erase records already shared with others.
2. What Serumah does
Serumah helps household members organise shopping, chores, plans, notes, bills and money records. Available features may vary during the pilot or by plan. Demonstrations use sample data. Features described as planned are not included until released.
Money entries and savings targets are records you maintain, not bank balances, a banking service or financial advice. Recording a bill as paid does not pay the provider, cancel a subscription or verify a transaction. Reminders depend on the service, your device, settings and connectivity. Keep separate arrangements for urgent or safety-critical matters.
3. Responsible use
Do not use Serumah for unlawful activity, harassment, impersonation, sharing content without permission, infringing intellectual property, distributing malware or attempting to access another household. Do not overload, disrupt or bypass the service’s security or access restrictions.
You are responsible for the information you add and for having permission to share another person’s information. Avoid uploading identity documents, bank credentials or sensitive records that the service does not need.
4. Your content and our software
You keep ownership of content you submit. You allow us and our service providers to store, process, display and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure and support Serumah, follow your instructions and meet legal obligations. Sharing within a household is part of that permission.
Serumah’s software, branding and original materials remain ours or our licensors’. We give you a limited right to use the service for its intended purpose. This does not transfer ownership of our software or brand.
5. Subscriptions
Before any paid subscription starts, the checkout must show the price, currency, billing period, member allowance, additional-member charges, applicable taxes and renewal terms. A price displayed on the website does not by itself authorise a charge. Free or pilot access does not automatically become paid access.
The Billing & Refunds Policy explains renewals, cancellation, billing errors and refund requests. We will give notice of changes affecting a paid plan before the next charge and provide an opportunity to cancel.
6. Availability and changes
We use reasonable care to operate the service, but maintenance, outages and third-party failures can occur. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or perfect accuracy. Keep copies of important information. Material feature changes affecting an existing paid plan will be communicated, together with any remedy required by law.
7. Suspension, leaving and deletion
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, address a security risk or comply with law. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow you to contact us to resolve it. Contact us to request account closure, access to your data or deletion; we may need to verify your identity and authority over shared household records.
Cancellation of a subscription and deletion of an account are separate actions. Shared records, lawful retention and backup limits are explained in the Privacy Policy.
8. Liability and consumer rights
Each party remains responsible for losses caused by its own breach of these terms or applicable law. We are not responsible for losses caused solely by information you enter incorrectly, unauthorised sharing by your household members, or your failure to pay a bill through the actual provider, except to the extent our own fault contributed.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, excuses fraud or removes rights and remedies under applicable consumer or personal-data law. These terms do not impose a blanket waiver of your statutory rights.
9. Law, complaints and updates
Malaysian law applies, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. Contact us first about a complaint so we can try to resolve it. This does not prevent you from approaching a competent regulator, tribunal or court.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be brought to your attention before they take effect where required. Existing disputes are not retroactively changed by a later version.
